IC Information;
Character Name; Kyouko Kirigiri
Canon; Dangan Ronpa , Wiki here !
Canon Point; Chapter 6, during the second investigation before the redo of Mukuro Ikusaba's trial..
Age; Estimated to be around 16 or 17.

House; Kirigiri would fit into Hel the best. That is because for the majority of her life she has been a detective, and she comes from a long line of detectives in her family. The suggestion is that she has been around death for most of her life, and her skills that she can contribute to a murder investigation (touching the body and examining the surroundings) are a huge factor of why I have chosen Hel as her house. Another reason is merely because of her desensitization of such things. She has come face to face with death more times than she probably ever bargained for herself.

Power; Shadow Control

Personality;

A good place to start with Kirigiri is at the beginning of the game. Right at her introduction, Naegi makes note that this was the girl who he could find nothing about on the Hope’s Peak Academy thread. Her special talent was unknown, and information was limited. When introductions happen there is this air of “I actually didn’t learn anything else”. Because you do not end up learning much more about her besides her name at that point in time. Any other information is kept away, partially because of how she is, and partially because she has amnesia which is revealed later on.

Upon that very same meeting with her, the first conclusion you can come to is that she is cold, distant, and stoic. Quite frankly that is not off the mark at all. Naegi even notes that it seems like she is wearing an iron mask. She is quite a mysterious character, and continues to be for quite a long time. The way she speaks can be harsh, blunt, and not so kind. This would be a case of where she has a point to make and she will make it. If she has something to say about another character she will also not hesitate to come out and say it no matter the cost. Taking all of that into regard, any other time she has very little to say and tends not to speak unless her input is needed. She deems that small talk is very unnecessary, and prefers to avoid it if possible.

It should be noted that Kirigiri prefers to act alone, and that is because of her special talent. She often goes off alone or sticks at enough distance that she can come to her own conclusions. She also seems to have a complete desensitization of dead bodies, willing to touch them and examine them to find causes of death and collect clues that will help in the school trials. Her aloofness does contribute heavily to the other students distrust for her, and she seems to be well aware of that fact. When the time comes she is able to prove her innocence with hard facts. It seems that her main role in Dangan Ronpa is to act as a support for Naegi, helping him be the one to gather information and pushing him to make conclusions himself that she has likely already made herself. Her demeanor during the investigations and trials is calm, and that can only be because she is seeing everything much differently than everyone else. While they are all looking for the more obvious clues, she is able to perform such feats as finding small not so obvious to the eye clues; an example would be in the trial of Oogami Sakura, the Monobear bottles. She had enough intuition to conduct an experiment and weigh them and it turned out that the shards of two glass bottles were present on the floor versus one. Later in the game it is revealed that Kirigiri’s super high school level talent was that she was a detective before coming to Hope’s Peak, meaning she is the very best in her field.

Another thing we learn early on is that she and her father are on rocky terms, and her main motive for even coming to Hope’s Peak was so that she could speak with him one last time. To tell him that she was cutting all ties from him, after all the headmaster is her father. Kirigiri comes from a long line of detectives, and she has a ridiculous amount of pride in her family name. But to tell her father that she was going to be cutting ties with him she was willing to taint that family name to get into Hope’s Peak. Some point later in the game when Naegi and Kirigiri are able to open the Headmaster’s secret office (of which the password to was “Kyouko”, Kirigiri’s first name), they find a picture of what seems to be the headmaster and Kirigiri when she was young and more importantly the headmaster’s bones. These factors seem to completely overwhelm Kirigiri to the point where she even has to ask Naegi to leave. She had been previously under the impression that her father cast her off and didn't care for her at all. But that wasn't the case in the end, and it is apparent that Kirigiri held some feeling for her father as well. It is very obvious that Kirigiri is very sensitive about the subject of her father.

Getting close to Kirigiri is a feat in itself. In game, Naegi tries to gain a certain level of closeness with her and at one point she even suggests that they stop doing just that. Becoming friends and getting your feelings invested in someone is what she says she believes leads to bad things happening, and her only example for that is her hands, which we find out have been scarred to the point that she wears custom made studded leather gloves over them. At all times. She says this is something she received when she was an amateur. She also has a hard time trusting people, and if she makes it seem like she is trusting someone, be well aware that this kind of trust is very dubious or situational. The only time she truly had to trust someone, it was Naegi, and the situation was whether she would live or she would die. This is where Dangan Ronpa splits into two endings. Should Naegi have broken her trust, she died. Had he not (which leads to the true end game), Naegi is “executed” (saved by Alter Ego at the last minute) and Kirigiri goes on about her usual way after saving Naegi from the garbage disposal. Here she uses her excellent skills to play Monobear right into her hand and gains the remaining students a complete redo of Mukuro Ikusaba’s trial. Another important thing to point out is that she heavily dislikes people keeping secrets from her, going so far as to go out of her own way to avoid you if such a thing would happen, A swell example of this would be in Chapter Four, when Naegi keeps a secret from Kirigiri about Sakura Oogami and she goes out of her way to not speak to and avoid Naegi for a good portion of the chapter. She does eventually get over being quite so up in arms about it.

In the end it is shown that even Kirigiri, who has a demeanor of ice, lost hope at the very end. She too needed to have that hope reinstated by Naegi and she is even the one to reveal that his true title was “Super High School Level Hope”. She is also able to come to terms with her father’s death and that perhaps her father wouldn’t want her to just toss away Naegi. This can described as her finally understanding her father, even if she did not know him very well to begin with.

To wrap this up on a good note, at the very end, when they have all convicted Junko Enoshima of being the mastermind, she says “Junko Enoshima. You said that despair is contagious. But, hope is just the same. Can’t you tell by looking at us?” It is nearly a complete shift from how she used to be, she seems to have openly put her trust in the other students, and eventually ends up leaving the school entirely with that very group.

Though I will not be playing her from after or during end game. I thought adding that last bit was important. She would not openly begin trusting people upon her arrival at Asgard, she had just come to somewhat trust the people around her in game.

Network Sample;

[It was several hours after her initial arrival the Kirigiri decided to come over the network- and not with her face. It was far too soon to become visible to the public eye, especially with not really knowing her whereabouts. From what she can conclude, this is not the school, and she is no longer investigating for the most crucial trial she will be part of.]

If I may have your attention.

[She pauses. Were there others out there? She was met with natives, and those who...completely lacked color. Her investigation was inconclusive about the cause of that- even with the bracelet and letter in hand, her curiosity brimmed so much further than what was likely necessary.]

I will pose a few simple questions. Are there others out there who received this letter? What do you make of it? Do you live and flourish here as a simple piece of paper instructed you?

Fill in a curious mind.

[A few moments later, the same voice comes back. With a simple request.]

Naegi Makoto. If you can hear this, respond immediately.

here is a meme link as well.
